In 2007, I began an apprenticeship with Chantal Mills, owner of The Ottawa Canine School (OCS). I have had a life-long affection for dogs and have owned them for most of my adult life. At the OCS, I have been given the opportunity to learn about dog training from the ground up. Along with participation and attendance at a number of dog training seminars and workshops I have garnered a good deal of knowledge and experience in many aspects of dog training. This includes puppy training and socialization, basic and intermediate obedience, agility, rally-O and scent training. I have also developed a learned understanding of behaviour and temperament issues.
In 2009, I retired from the work-a-day world in Ottawa and my wife and I built a home just outside of Perth. We are now sharing our days with a female German Shepherd whom we adopted through a rescue organization and loving this current chapter in life.
I am a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers (CAPPDT) and the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and continue my affiliation with Ottawa Canine School as the Senior Trainer.
